What it does

Updating one field on a hundred entries in Statamic means opening a hundred entries. Karelia Spreadsheet puts a whole collection in a spreadsheet inside the Control Panel. Click a cell and type, paste a block from Excel or Google Sheets, drag the corner to fill down, find and replace across the collection, or take it out as CSV and bring it back.

Nothing is saved until you press Save, and then every entry is saved the way Statamic's own publish form saves it: through its blueprint's validation rules, its fieldtypes, revisions and your users' permissions. A value that cannot be right is marked red before it is sent, and an error from the server comes back on the exact cell.

A blog collection in the spreadsheet with columns for title, published, date, price, featured, colour and tags. Edited cells are yellow, one invalid price is red, and the header reads 5 unsaved changes in 4 entries.
Changes are highlighted until you save. A word in a number field is marked red at once and never sent.
  • A real spreadsheet

Arrow keys, Enter to edit, Tab, range selection, copy and paste with Excel and Google Sheets, a fill handle, column resizing and a pinned title column.

  • The right editor for each field

Text, textareas and Markdown, slugs, numbers, dates, toggles that flip with Enter, select, radio, button group and checkboxes, and pickers with search for entries, terms, users and assets.

  • Saved the Statamic way

Each entry is saved through its blueprint's validation, its fieldtypes' processing, revisions as a working copy where they are on, and last-modified tracking, exactly like the publish form. Errors come back on the cell.

  • Find and replace, undo and redo

Replace in one column or all text columns, with match case and whole cell. Every edit, paste, fill, replace and import can be undone with Ctrl+Z. Ctrl+S saves.

  • CSV out and in

Export the sheet, edit it anywhere and import it back. Rows are matched by id or slug, and imported values show up as unsaved changes to check first. Cells that Excel could run as formulas are written safely.

  • Respects permissions

Users need the new Use the spreadsheet permission. On top of that they see only entries they can view, change only entries they can edit, and need publish rights to change the status.

A tag picker opened on a cell, with a search field and the tags Guides and News.
Tags, entries, users, assets and options get a picker with search. Press Enter on the cell.
The Find and replace dialog replacing Summer with Midsummer in all text columns, showing 1 match in 1 entry.
Find and replace in one column or every text column, with a count before anything changes.
The spreadsheet in the dark Control Panel theme, scrolled to the colour, tags, related post and hero image columns.
Follows the Control Panel's light or dark theme, and works with the keyboard alone.

Bought on the Statamic Marketplace. Local, development and staging copies of your site need no licence, so you can try it for free before you go live.

Nothing saved behind your back

Every change waits, highlighted, until you press Save. Then it goes through the same validation, fieldtypes, revisions and permissions as the entry page. The addon stores nothing of its own and never contacts us.

Good to know

  • Bard, Replicator, Grid, Table and similar nested fields are shown read-only for reference. Edit them on the entry page.
  • Field conditions (show and hide rules) are not applied in the grid. Every field is shown, and its validation rules still apply when saving.
  • Up to 2,000 entries load into one sheet by default. Search, or open a selection with the Edit in Spreadsheet bulk action, to work on the rest.
  • Multi-site aware: switch site, and fields that are not localizable are locked on translations.
  • Works with Statamic Core and Pro, with flat files and with the Eloquent driver. On Core, without roles, only the super admin uses it.

Data and security

Karelia Spreadsheet runs inside your own Statamic Control Panel. It stores nothing of its own, saves through Statamic's validation and permissions, and never contacts us. The security page lists what is stored, for how long and which permissions are needed. The privacy policy and the EULA are public.
