What to include
A good request lets us answer without asking questions first.
- The address of your Confluence site, and the page you copied from.
- What you chose in the copy dialog (destination, options, title rule) and what the preview said.
- The job report, if there is one: Apps, Treewright, Jobs, then Details.
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead. A screenshot helps.
- When it happened, with your time zone.
Please do not send passwords or confidential content. If we need an example, we will ask for it.
Common questions
The copy dialog only shows a spinner.
Atlassian shows a consent screen the first time an app is used, and a browser can block it. Reload the page and approve the screen. Treewright needs it to act as you.
Some pages were not copied.
Whiteboards, databases, folders, smart links used as pages and archived pages cannot be copied by apps. They are skipped and listed in the preview, and the report counts them. Pages you are not allowed to see are not listed at all.
A link in the copy still points to the original page.
Links to pages outside the copied tree are kept on purpose: they should still lead where they did. Links between pages inside the tree are rewritten, and the report shows every rewrite.
A job stopped with an error about acting on behalf of the user.
Atlassian did not accept the request that Treewright made as the person who started the job, for example because the app's permissions changed and need to be approved again, or because the account was deactivated. Ask that person to open Treewright once more, then open the job in Apps, Treewright, Jobs and choose Resume. If the account is gone, start the copy again.
The restriction rule did not apply to a new page.
Confluence can deliver page events up to three minutes late. Check that the rule is switched on, that the page is below the page the rule belongs to (directly below, for the direct children setting), and that the page was not created by a Treewright copy job, which the rule skips on purpose.
Can I copy a whole space in one step?
Not yet. Copy the top pages of the space one by one. Space settings, permissions, blogs and the theme are not part of a copy.
